Course Explanation

Seoul History Seochon Course. Feel the breath of 500 years of the Joseon Dynasty. Sarang National Palace Museum Cafe→ Haewadal Hanbok →Tosokchon Samgyetang→No.1 Lamb Skewer

This course consists of the excellent universal tourism facilities selected by the Seoul Tourism Organization in 2023. Universal tourism facilities cater to all individuals, including those with disabilities, by ensuring convenient access for everyone.

Seochon, also known as "the west town," is situated in the historic heart of Seoul, to the west of the royal palaces of the Joseon Dynasty. The destruction of Gyeongbokgung Palace during the Imjin War led to its restoration in 1867 by Heungseon Daewon-gun. The palace now offers insight into royal life and traditional arts with structures like Geunjeongjeon, Gyeonghoeru, and Gangnyeongjeon. The pleasant aroma of oil drifts from the street corners where you can stumble upon a 70-year-old bindaetteok shop, along with a range of other stores and workshops. Seochon is not only a popular spot for visitors, but also a lively hub of art and culture.

Sarang National Palace Museum, a hidden gem within Gyeongbokgung Palace, provides insight into the royal lifestyle of the Joseon Dynasty. Imagining the lifestyle of kings and queens with the historical court clothes and household items on exhibit here is enjoyable. Guests have the opportunity to capture pictures, hear tales of royalty, and unwind in the peaceful, traditional setting.

Following your visit to Gyeongbokgung Palace, you have the option to dine at various restaurants such as Tosokchon Samgyetang and No.1 Lamb Skewers. Tosokchon Samgyetang is famous for its flavorful broth and grains, whereas No.1 Lamb Skewer delivers juicy lamb skewers and lamb ribs using Australian lamb. Also, the Sarang National Palace Museum Cafe, situated within Gyeongbokgung Palace, offers Korean treats in addition to its distinctive menu, which features golden plum tea and Yulmu citrus peel tea.
