Course Explanation

Escape to Yeouido during the hot summer! Enjoy the Han River swimming pool and Pyongyang naengmyeon while riding in a wheelchair. <br />Yeouido Hangang Park Swimming Pool → Pandongmyeonok

Selected barrier-free tourism facility for all

This course consists of the excellent universal tourism facilities selected by the Seoul Tourism Organization in 2023. Universal tourism facilities cater to all individuals, including those with disabilities, by ensuring convenient access for everyone.

Yeouido Hangang Park, an oasis located in the heart of Seoul, is the perfect place to escape the summer heat. The park's pools open every summer season, and for this year, six out of the eight pools (Ttukseom, Yeouido, Jamwon swimming pools/Jamsil, Nanji, and Yanghwa waterparks) are open from June 20 to August 18. Mangwon swimming pool will open in 2028 after improvements at the north end of Seongsan Bridge, while Gwangnaru swimming pool will open in 2026 following reconstruction. Still, Nanji waterpark will be reopening after maintenance caused by flooding and sedimentation, so make sure to check the website prior to your visit! From July 24 to August 11, Ttukseom, Yeouido, Jamwon swimming pool, and Jamsil waterpark will extend their hours into the evening, allowing visitors to beat the daytime heat and swim until nightfall. Make sure to confirm the operating hours in advance, as a few pools may shut down at 8pm or 10pm!

The Seoul Metropolitan Government manages the Hangang Outdoor Swimming Pools in a hygienic manner and offers them at affordable prices, making them a popular place to escape the heat during the hot summer months. Especially, the Yeouido Hangang Park Outdoor Swimming Pool offers a perfect barrier-free travel course for wheelchair users to enjoy comfortably. Apart from entertainment options such as aqua rings, floor fountains, sculpture fountains, Eurobungee, and mini vikings, there are also several barrier-free facilities like slope-free pathways, bump-free entrances and exits, and wheelchair-accessible changing rooms and first aid stations for wheelchair users to travel comfortably. After taking a satisfying swim at Hangang Swimming Pool, treat yourself to a traditional Pyeongyang Naengmyeon at Pandong Myeonok nearby, and you'll feel like you're in paradise. Join us for a special day to get away from the scorching heat.
